the DrakeCast Fly Fishing Podcast The F3T

Every January, three fishing bums make a pilgrimage to Boulder, Colorado. While in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the young wards practice the ancient art of moving coolers, throwing swag into raucous crowds, and pressing play on a Blu Ray player. Upon the completion of their training, the crew heads out on the open road to present the Fly Fishing Film Tour to hungry crowds. This is part one of that adventure.

As always, a huge round of thank yous to the folks at Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures and Scott Fly Rods for their continued support of the DrakeCast.

While the basis of this episode is a group of coworkers retelling stories of the recent past, it's actually much more than that. With the help of Paul Nicoletti and Rex Messing, listeners travel with the crew from Boulder, Colorado to Portland. While on the road we managed to record a whole bunch of good stuff: on the water audio from the Big Horn River, the Missouri at Craig, a taste of steelheading in the PNW, interviews with interesting innovators in the industry, and stories from folks we met along the way. We also take a walk through the hallowed halls of the Simms Fishing Products wader making facility and dig into why Simms chooses to make some, but not all, of their waders in the US.
