Re: Winter

That shit don't look very thick... you must have bigger balls than I do , or maybe you're just not a fat fuck like I am who requires at least 6 inches of good ice to feel comfortable! :cool FWIW, I live a bit south of there and a lot closer to the coast. It was cold enough to freeze the water at th...

Re: Ho hum... just another mass murder.

I guess the real question is, how has the 2nd amendment survived as long as it has? Because the 2nd amendment is the only amendment securing your other rights. How has the 2nd amendment protected my right to due process? Privacy? Equal Protection? I'll give you a hint - it hasn't, not even a little...

Re: Ho hum... just another mass murder.

And how many other rights are we prepared to step on to enforce them? Privacy? Due process? Equal protection? What? These questions should be answered well by those who are... Privacy - already done away with. Due Process - check, that one's gone too. Equal protection - check, got that one. I guess...

Re: Ho hum... just another mass murder.

But when your method of addressing how to save people from violence is to make someone who is hell bent on killing people reload more often, methinks yer focus on the solution is a bit askew. . . especially when there are about a bazillion mags in existence with a capacity >10. I've managed to stee...

Request: Big Island (HI) Bones, or other?

I'm headed to visit friends in HI this year, and while it's mostly going to be a surf trip, I'll be bringing rods with me, and hope to do a bit of fishing. I'm going to be on the Big Island, staying up near Waimanu Valley (North end of the Island) but I'm going to have a car, so pretty much anywhere...

Re: See your business going under?

Some folks labor with their brains and some labor with their backs. Other than one pays more what’s the difference? It’s that capital gains thing again. Lower tax rates are an incentive for folks to invest in creating companies, jobs, yada, yada, yada. It’s a behavior we want in this country and fu...

Re: Linux Photo Editing

Remember that Canon's jpg engine tends to sharpen heavily, so when you're working from RAW you'll want to modestly sharpen in conversion and then apply output sharpening once you've converted and you've resized to your final image size. I'm a Nikon guy, so I'm coming at this from a different perspe...

The problem is, there aren't enough loopholes. The math just doesn't work - you can eliminate all of them and still not generate enough revenue.
