Re: rods and reels

I based the price off of what I saw other people selling these rods at. I don't buy premium gear only to let clients treat them like shit and not take care if them. Would just buy tfo or similar garbage if I didn't care. Prices are negotiable if you do think I'm asking too much for anything. Everybo...

rods and reels

Time to dump some unused gear and get some stuff I might actually need. Scott S4 9' 6 wt 4 piece. used regularly as a client rod for several years. I really like it but it is a bit too much rod for the continuous stream of googans that find their way into my boat. Tip section has about an inch broke...

Re: whatcha tying?

It's a pattern called the wood duck heron, created a while back for targeting sea run brown trout in the estuary systems of southern Maine and coastal New Hampshire. Gets used throughout the northeast for everything from pin smelts to hexagenia emergers. I used to grease them up with floatant and sk...

Re: whatcha tying?

I come back twice a year to see how this thread is doing. sometimes I feel like I'm the only one on the internet tying trout flies. https://scontent-a-pao.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/1452122_10201014437582528_725887374_n.jpg batch of wood duck herons headed east to my hometown shop. https://scontent-b...

Re: whatcha tying?

Ironically enough, it's Tom. Tom G. If all goes well, we will be up there on the rocks next year. Former marine that plays around with switch rods? Don't think I've ever met him (maybe once or twice) but I think he fishes with some mutual people I know and occasionally posts on my local bb. Good lu...

What's his name? We sell quite a lot of those flies and a pile of the material to tie them but I'm sure I'd recognize the name if he's come in thes shop or ordered stuff in the past.

Re: whatcha tying?

Yo Tom, what's the scoop on those pollock flies? A friend...who lives in the midwest...and has fished Maine in the past.... ties them, dead on those. Glass eyes, same feather lateral line, etc. Is that a shop pattern up there? The rocky Maine coast is a nursery for baby pollock. So even when macker...
