kayaks you can stand in are super nice for creeks and stuff, but if you plan on being out in open water (ocean) standing is useless if there is any chop or wind. look at a 16ft boat if you want to go in open water, it will track and paddle far far better, and get a rudder to help track the boat bett...

Got the kayaks out to chase some big bass but none wanted to play, hooked a decent one but came un-buttoned. Still a good trip nonetheless.
