Re: Help Needed...Southern Musky

Check with Kyle or Maniac. May be able to help or point you in the right direction. The only fish Kylie caught was w/ me, Maniac caught a ramp fish once.... :Roll Eyes Of course if you're after drugs, shine and Hooters, that's a different story. Hey Kyle! WTF dude?! That was way out of line!!! I ha...

Portland, Maine help needed!!

I'm in Portland for the holidays and don't know a soul. My folks are gone all day and I need to get out (doesn't have to be fishing, I'm bored at the house), are there any drakians living here?

Thanks

Re: whatcha tying?

http://www.alphatrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/shad-plugs1_1024-1024x768.jpg I tied these a while back. I got a variety of plug lips from Netcraft or somewhere, and these are my first couple tries with them. I know that this is basically building plugs, but they are lightweight and tied like ...

Help needed--NW ARKANSAS

Does anyone here live in NW Arkansas (like Huntsville, Fayetteville/Springdale, etc.)? I just moved here (Kingston, AR) and am looking for people to fish with or tie flies with. My nearest lake of any size is Beaver Lake, any recommendations (might fish there tomorrow...). I have a couple boats and ...

Re: Who's stalking who

That was interesting, thanks Shufisher. I am not surprised about this, bears are very smart. I've spent a lot of time in grizz country but they have always run the other way, fortunately. Last year I spent the year living in the Ozarks in NW Arkansas, and we had a breeding pair of bald eagles with o...

Re: whatcha tying?

aah shit...I've missed this place! I finally had success with the floating shad pattern a couple days ago. We went striper fishing on the lake and there were literally millions of tiny shad just covering the surface of the lake. About every 20 casts on a streamer would result in hooking a 1.5-inch s...

Re: whatcha tying?

Nope, no dremel. Look closely & you can tell: a quick slice with a razor blade and then CA glue; then same cut on opposite end of cylinder, then CA glue.

Re: whatcha tying?

Nobody really hangs out on the Fly Tying section anymore, do they?...How many we got? Couple people left? There used to be some cool shit on this section, is there still? Here's some gizzard shad Hollow Fleye patterns I tied the previous week, before the smaller (threadfin & alewive) shad started co...

Re: whatcha tying?

That's a good call BigCliff. I never considered that one. I've been meaning to store these with some dead shad so they have the smell, maybe in the fridge or freezer for a while. But yesterday was a warm day (& a warm night previously) so there were Zero shad coming through the generators...I think ...
