I'm not quite the anti-foamist you are, but I see your point. Just a guess, but foam bugs often are faster and cheaper to tie, which could explain their popularity with the fly sellers.

Big fish can turn otherwise decent people into selfish pigs. The same person who would never consider cutting in front of you on line at the grocery store checkout or at the movie theater thinks nothing of walking in ten feet downstream of another steelheader and begin casting. It's a waste of time ...

I've been done with my local TU chapter for many years. Ever since the then-chapter president said he didn't see anything wrong with snagging salmon - "They're just gonna die anyway." :gun: They did some good projects - stream bank erosion improvements, etc. but out of more than 400 members, the sam...

I'm not about to criticize anybody's casting - but I'm certain that photo wasn't taken on the either the Ausable or the AuSable. <img border="0" alt="[king]" title="" src=[/img]raemlins/swimmingking.gif">

I'm no fan of the current administration, but this controvery reeks of political posturing and worse, racism. "Foreigners" already run several US ports (Dubai will take over from a British firm and China already manages other US port facilities) If there is any good to be found in this, maybe it wil...

I'd never buy a silent reel. The sound of a Hardy or click-and-pawl CFO is music to my ears.

Another minority vote. I have certainly wanted to fish beyond the posted signs, but don't unless invited. I have permission to fish a number of private waters, often by doing hard labor for the landowner. And it pisses me off to see someone trespassing where I've busted my ass to get permission.That...

Technically, Dickel ( and Jack Daniels) are Tennessee whiskies, not bourbon. Nit-picking aside, Dickel's good stuff.

Highland Park is probably my favorite malt whisky. Woodford's is becoming my favorite bourbon.Health drink, you say? I need to get healthy. :D

Those birds were Hamas suicide quail, and tragically, Whittington was collateral damage. This was no accident, it was negligence. But what else could we expect from one of the architects of the US's Iraq policy - shoot first and duck responsibility later.
