Re: Did you see this?....

Don't get me wrong, I like hunting. BUT easy access to guns could be a problem. It is a lot more work to kill something with your bare hands, These guys don't look like the type for hard work.

Re: Cutting Tools

1.jpg Winter has almost finished here and spring has come around too fast as I was planning to get a few projects done before the trout season opened. One project almost completed was a skinner for my son, I need to make a sheath for it. This is a premade blank and I made the handle out of Houn Pin...

Intro from down under

DtZ6hjiJmTU I thought I'd give it a shot; I started flyfishing in NZ IMGP0306.jpg and after a few years I moved to Tas bow.jpg and just finished building my house here. This shoud give me more time for fishing in the places I want to be. Camping Trip 101 (26).JPG Last week I spoke to a mate and sug...

Re: Unlimited Rod Building Thread

I turned a couple of reelseat inserts today, just to see what they looked like. Blackheart Sassafrass and the other is Huon Pine with B/H Sassafrass inlay. Thanks for looking http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b608/msrampant/IMG_2630_zpsfab8c790.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b608/msrampan...

Re: Unlimited Rod Building Thread

LeeO, that rod has come up a treat. I am keen to know what the red rings that are used on the rod tube; also you mentioned that you soak the wood in a mix of PU and alcohol, is this poly ureathane? My next work in progress is a couple of spey rods, how does this mix hold up on the heavier/ salt rods...
