I use thread to lock it in place like you would a cone on a Dirty Hippie streamer, then palmer the marabou in front of the cone, wrap thread back over it to the front of the cone. The cone adds a little counterweight, helps flare the marabou outw...

Nice hair work. Surprised you don't employ a hook with a larger gape, you know, to enable you to more often impale the fishes. Thanks! So far I haven't had problems with this hook for this pattern. I do want to test a tube version, though. I could have the body length I want with a short shank wide...

None taken Raz. Hallooween at ou is fucking nuts. Smallies are always a plus. They have watered down the party scene a ton lately. Seems like it used to be Halloween, homecoming, Mill and Palmer Fests. Now there's a damn fest every weekend in spring and several during fall. Halloween is still king,...

Athens is a good town. Viva Meigs county outdoor. Great town for a lot of things, just not the greatest for fly fishing. Closest shop is 50 minutes away in WV. I still get the "they ain't no trout in here" line a time or two a year from local fishermen who don't see fly rods in these parts. Pretty ...

I don't get abused enough at work or on the water, so why not subject myself to this? Here's an introduction type thing. I live in the middle of fly fishing nowhere in SE Ohio. 3 hours from a trout stream, 4 hours from Lake Erie, 45 minutes from law enforcement help if a meth head breaks into my hou...
