Re: That First Rush

Got Drake in mail here in Western New York urban wilderness yesterday. Am checking Barnes and Noble also, a lot of friends want copies too, make great background for pie pictures, especially with the hand with flies on it. Must really freak out the mailman, delivering gun mags, dog things and then t...

Re: Where is my magazine?

Still haven't gotten the Drake here, there might be a sinister plot or conspiracy to get them to the Orvis shops before the subscribers. We could name this the "single mag" conspiracy, how else can you explain how one magazine managed to show up in so many places at one time? Maybe we should set up ...

Re: Hey absolute horseshit...

How about time of day approaching a good sulfur hatch and having a dozen or so tubers float down the creek sucking suds and throwing the empties at the rising fish? Or having drift fishers show up on a steelhead creek with their centrepin reels and drifting right through you? :)

Re: Funniest moment on the way back from fishing

On the way to a creek last year I got caught in the traffic standstill on the NYS thruway for a couple of hours with the Warped Tour traffic. Guess the toll takers left at the exit or something, so the people just got out on the road and partied showing off tattoos, piercings and other various body ...

Re: MMMMM...... SULPHERS .......AAAUUUGGDROOOOOL

Righteous sulphur blizzard today on a creek in WNY, too busy to take fish porn shots, but I swear the larger fish could tell the difference between a male sulphur and female or something, there were some weird refusals then fish actually coming out of the water to chase expecially light duns. Compar...

I know a shop that ordered them last year and still hasn't gotten them. I want to get extras for my office waiting room, next to MAD.

Re: Where is my magazine?

The Barnes and Noble here gets it, checked it yesterday and no Drake. Incredible that they can get magazines about thrasher skateboarding, wrestling, tattoos, and cigar smoking and not get the Drake. Maybe the Journal of Pies will come in.

Re: State of rod Manufacturers in North America.

I personally own several of the rods mentioned, have gotten excellent service from T&T, love my Scott S3S and Ls2 Winston B2 86. An interesting thing to note is that I have a lot of old Fly Fisherman Mags from the seventies (back when they had real info and didn't use models on their covers) and whe...

Re: I need a good fishing read

I agree with GS, both of Jerry Kustich's books are excellent, also try Jim Harrison. Another author is Paul Quinnett (Pavlov's Trout, Darwin's Bass and Fishing Lessons.
