In January we had the worst freeze we've had down here since 1989. This weekend I was out in the marsh and every Mangrove I saw was dead. I hope other areas fared better.

I've wondered about this Ron. The '89 freeze was worse, no? I heard tales of fish kills from the '89 freeze but didn't hear that from this year's snowmaggedon. So if they survived that freeze they should be good, right? Either way, they don't look good and I hope they rebound. That is a special place to me.

If nothing else, maybe we can get those that Ben is nursing along from the other species of mangroves.

I think the '89 freeze was worse statewide, not sure about whether or not it was worse that far south. Something I didn't know until yesterday is that there is a group teh seeds mangroves in the marsh each year using crop dusters. They do around 50 acres a year. I think Ben's are red mangroves, if so they are less cold tolerant than black mangroves, which is why we have the black mangroves. Ratliff said he saw some mangroves still alive a bit east of where I was. Not sure exactly where he was at.

With January temps in the 60s and February temps in the single digits expect the price of apples, pears, cherries and other PNW fruits to skyrocket this year.

I’m starting to see the beauty of Trumpsterfire’s plan. Encourage global warming and we won’t need all those deplorables we kicked out.

the onus is on you as a parent to teach your child to be fucking normal.
perhaps if you resisted telling them that they are the most important person in this world and that they can be whatever they want may help.

don't fucking tell me you thought your child was well adjusted because he said so in his emails from his bedroom.
you should be shot as well. right behind the twatting ear.

Spring weekdays: rainy, cloudy, Rivers up and stained, 40-50 degrees. Water is just getting over 40 for the first time of the year.

Spring weekends: blue bird, 30 mph winds, river has dropped and cleared, pull up to the launch and it’s 10 degrees. Waters is 35 and still dropping.
