I'd be happy to buy you a Shiner to hear what else you got to say.
Throw in some enchiladas and I'll sing like a canary.

On my bookshelf:

"Shoot Low Boy's, They're Ridin' Shetland Ponies"
"Elvis Is Dead And I Don't Feel So Good Myself"
"They Tore Out My Heart And Stomped That Sucker Flat"

I reread one of his almost every couple of weeks.

I've been reading about Pennsylvania Indians from books in my personal library I've collected over the years.
Books written in the 17 & 1800's reprinted by lovers of history like myself.

Check out The World Without Us-Alan Weisman.

Researched speculation that's not too "sciencey."

Very good. Not really a "coming of age" story, in the usual sense, but a finely crafted narrative of a Father/Son/family relationship (without a lot of emo shit), as told through reminiscence.
A bit slow going at the start, but gradually fills with details and intrigue. Rich, descriptive novel.

When "The Varsity" was mentioned in a thread I wondered when Grizzard would come up. Currently on the bathroom shelf:

Don't Bend Over in the Garden Granny, You Know Them Taters Got Eyes
Chili Dogs Always Bark at Night
"Don Jacobo Crespin y McGillicuddy awoke at noon, feeling refreshed and languorous at the same time, one of the neatest tricks a man can perform."

“Which way General?” the aide asked. “Either,” Forrest growled. “If one road led to Hell and the other to Mexico, I would be indifferent which to take.”

Jerome

I have a pdf of 3 contemporary newspaper accounts and Carr's deposition regarding the Glanton Gang's demise at the Yuma ferry. It's too large to attach. PM me an email address if you don't mind

West Jay- thanks for the rec on "Out Stealing Horses". I'll pick that up
