I heard through the grapevine that sulfurs were beginning to come off on the local, so after three days of family easter activities, I took off and headed to the nearest spot, just about a fifty minute drive.
Birds were in the air above the water when I arrived, that looked promising. Couldn't tell what was coming off the water at first. I rigged up dry and waded out into the run. Picked off a little brown on a caddis that I tided up to the AR trip. Nobody else was interested for a while. Sulhurs stated popping off with some regularity, but the wind was atrocious. I nymphed for a while and tried the deep runs with hopes of enticing some of the big boys. No luck, switched back to a dry at dusk and hooked another diminutive Smith River brown.
that was good enough and a great way to spend the few remaining hours of daylight on Easter Sunday...
