Got a lot of poop fishin fisheries around here but they always seems to be an afterthought. After sight casting to a few 20+ lbers I can see why its addicting, just gotta figure out what the river poopers like to eat.

slew/slough... self high $5
Almost a full 24 hours, tard is off his game.
Thanks for the thoughts.

There is a very average sounding dude out your way that ties a way above average crawfish pattern that the poopers love.

I pay in bacon and bourbon but I bet he would settle for scotch.

New from Jack Daniels. Bacon Bourbon. A smooth, sweet hickory smoked bacon note that doesn't overpower the dank ballsack finish you've grown to love from JD.

We need some life around here...

The last couple months flew by. Made it to an annual post thanksgiving trip and a few other random day trips. Not really enough TR material individually so i'll dump it all here.

I haven't made this trip in 3 years for various reason but I was stoked to get back to the lake. I was looking forward to it more than the bird, stuffing, taters, and pie of the night before. A lot of the usual attendees couldn't make it but rookie and I headed up and met up with a mentor and master of the fishy craft, J. He was up well before dawn each morning tying the days patterns. He graciously shared a few with us, all I did was look at rookie and he knew, when J hands you a fly you fish it. Friday the wind blew hard and stirred up most of the coves. Saturday was cold and cloudy but relatively calm and we did damage. Sunday was nice and sunny and we had to put in some work to get a few to hand.

Fire has made a lot of appearances in this years tr's

Image

Rookies god made the trek and was wondering just what the fuck we were doing out in a stiff 30 mph wind.

Headed up to see the damage done to the backyard creek.

Pretty easy to get around with all the under brush burnt off

I fished a few runs but felt a sense of guilt as most of the other people on the road were homeowners sifting through whats left or contractors trying to get infrastructure up and running.

Headed south for cloudy day mayfly's eaters and a chance for steelbow.

Image

There was still a party going on.
