I think the "BM" on this mound actually stands for "bowel movement"; one of Franzen's, if I'm not mistaken...

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Police say a central Wyoming man they arrested for public intoxication claimed he had traveled back in time to warn of an alien invasion.

That's funny

Funny you mention this too... buddy of mine almost got a fricken DWI while drinking a beer on a kayak with a trolling motor on it. They ended up just giving a verbal warning because he obviously wasn't drunk or doing anything stupid. But Gamewardens were being major dicks.

I thought it had to be a motorized vessel of some type to get a DUI?
Cali has a DUI on a Bike charge. I arrested on that once in 25 years. Dude went into traffic, caused a major injury collision involving himself and a family.

And one of my old mountain bike racing buddies actually got into a bike pursuit while DUI. He got hooked. We had some good laughs over that one.

I think this quote says it all ...

The complaint says Schmunk stated she, "had no way to strap it down so she had her (son) climb on the roof to hold it down while she drove." Schmunk later told police she did strap the boy down inside the pool.

So, if I understand her thinking, if the pool slid off the roof of the minivan, at least the kid was strapped into the pool. Maybe it was full, and she reasoned (is this the right word here?) the water would absorb the impact. Kinda like an air bag, but with water. Maybe she's onto something.
