Well last week my wife informed me that there was an opening for the camp this weekend, so off we went. Alex asking if there was fishing, me telling him we can fish on Sunday when we get home or if he wants to leave early we will (this was his weekend).
Upon our arrival, the place looked ok to me:
Then the wife calls to see what we think of the place, and asks if the cabin is nice. "Meh, it'll do for a weekend, we've stayed in worse", I say.
We take a walk around the joint...this'll work.
We take a walk to the "pond"...kinda skanky.
"Dad, what's that blob???!!!"
"Well, it's called the blob. You jump from that deck and shoot people into the air."
"Cool! Can we do it?!"
He decides he wants to rope climb, arboretum style.
Did pretty damn well, considering he's scared of heights.
We signed up for paintball...in the woods which totally rocked...
Until the lightning came. Shut down for the day.
Little ferker got a ride in the Unimog
While we were waiting for the lightning time out period to end, we did a bit of walking.
"So this is where the repelling is, huh dad?" Did I mention the "Blob"?
That's the boy on the 300' zip line to the lagoon.
(Of course dad did his own safety check)
I (if he was game) was planning on heading home on Saturday night so I could flytie before our fishing on Sunday, but my wife had a surprise for me which wasn't quite finished, so we stayed another night.
Woke up to revelry at 0:700 and grabbed some grub, loaded the S2k, and headed back south.
We roll into the house at 0:10 00 to find that my lovely bride was attempting a complete bathroom remod including tub and tile...in one weekend (I'm sorry, but I can't show pictures of what I walked into)...I give her kudos, she tried, though.
After tying a few dozen bugs today that we had to have for this and constantly being pestered by his 7 YO sister, I neglected to bring...the box I filled and "only fly box we needed today", so we made due...and he fished.
...and caught fish.
...Damn, out of photo space, please hold.
