evening swinging tr

Post by ak_powder_monkey » Sat May 10, 2014 4:48 pm

[report]

Early summer evenings are the best. Smolt are beginning their migration downstream and rainbows stack up gorging on their way to spawn. A couple evenings of after work fishing getting home at 1 am are so nice after the winter.

I hooked up gained a bunch of line, and lost it all... on a 12.5ft 6 wt a fish that can do that is serious, I was kinda thinking it might be an early king... Which wasn't totally out of the question...

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought it would be couple swapping shit. Then I read who made the post and figured that was out of the question. In the end, I was much happier with what I saw.

Its an Allen Alpha 3, I'm thinking I need to replace it with a redtruck diesel though, it looks ugly on that rod

fixed.

Really dig swinging a 2-hander for big trout. Haven't done it in way too many months, thanks for the reminder of how great it can be. Keep doing what you're doing, and please keep sharing it here.

[report]

after a long day of moving out of my old place and preparing for summer I decided to go fishing again tonight. Drove north stopped at a spot... They wanted money to park, talked to some buddies who where fishing there, drove to the next spot, some kid with a zebco was flogging the water we wanted to fish. Further on we got to a river where amazingly there was nobody fishing. Fairly shortly into the evening I hooked up on a fish that did its best to convince me it had been to saltwater, running, jumping tailwalking, running again.

the night continued on from there

Looks like a good way to spending the evenings and the end results are pretty impressive. Keep at it.

Everything about your posts kick balls.
However, this shot above, while gorgeous in every way, was a tad pre-mature.
Then again, it may just be the difference in the action of the rod.

Note this photo Ginseng Sullivans took of my silhouette of this cast when we fished the Slamon River.
Now my cast probably landed in a pile of sheep cum, but the bend is sick huh?
Yes I am aware my arms are too far out and I'm holding the rod like a SH but I never said I was a good caster.
I said Nick was a fuckofa good photog.

Thanks MonkeySpanker, now go beat off or something.
