I have 2 watches.

An Ironman for diving, fishing, research.
A Roamer for everything else.

The Ironman has been the most dependable watch I've had in 20 years of research. I could give a shit about analog. I need data down to the second and be able to rapidly call out times for sampling. This does it.
I can appreciate that sentiment too. Atomic timing rocks!

Casio Ranngeman

ABC features and atomic timing. Tough watch.

I was looking at the Vostok. How heavy does it feel on the wrist? Dig the old school look.
Nothing extraordinarily heavy about them except for the larger pieces on the Vostok Europe line. The average Amphibia is not much different than what I find in the Seiko or Citizen line IMHO. Vostok makes some rather corky and funky looking watches but I find them to be tough, functional and decent value for my intention. I have a handful of Vostok Amphibia and I bought them specifically for modding. They're inexpensive and can be easily modded.

Here is another piece that sees a lot of creek water, an Amphibia aka the Scuba Dude.
I bought this one on eBay a couple of years ago for around $55 delivered and it looked like this out of the box...

I then simply replaced the bezel/insert and bracelet for an additional $52, a 15 min. project.

A Zulu strap works for this piece rather nicely.

Also, I dig the cushion or turtle case as some may refer along with the domed acrylic crystal which though not as scratch resistant as mineral or sapphire crystal, can be easily polished with Polywatch unlike typical mineral or sapphire crystal.

Now, this Dude is ready for the creek.

A rubber strap works just as well...

A decent value for a play watch or for daily wear, on a mesh bracelet...
