We bought a 2013 Outback for a bit over $25k otd. Has a ton of bells & whistles and hasn't been stuck yet. And that's sayin' something, because my wife drives it. Whereas I pull up and assess the situation, she drops the hammer and dives right in. I've borrowed it a few times for fishing; it goes places that my F-150 won't.

Subaru also offers great incentives... We bought our car on the last day of July, receiving a $500 dealer rebate, a $1k factory rebate, and 0% financing. Sadly, we couldn't come within $5k when searching for a comparable domestic vehicle.
I believe in rules. Sure I do. If there weren't any rules, how could you break them?

My buddy from Chile bought a 2004 to drive while he was here for the last two summers.
Drove it to Montreal and back twice, Montana, Wyoming, Calgary and back here.
The car ran great until his brother totaled in in Quebec this winter…

Expect electrical issues …blinkers clock. We searched these issues and were common in the Volvos or that era.
The clock will do weird things but ignore that shit ($500 to fix). Other than that it was a great buy…all leather, moon roof loaded. Air even worked.
He did have window issues as well.
Pulled a 16ft Clack no trouble even pulled the boat up a nasty takeout with a 3 foot bank.
I think for the most part, the demographic that owned one did not off road or do dumb shit with them.
Good luck
That Fly took such a shellackin' I just wanted put a warm towel on her shoulders and
giver her a bowl of chicken soup…Blumpkin

We have an easygoing and demotivated freemarket type of uslessness here...JhnnyThndr
