I think you should leave the key at a local tavern...in case some of your Drake brothers come to town... :smile

Fatman, ask and it is all yours...
Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need-a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing.

First, I want to thank everyone that responded, texted, called, etc. This is a special place indeed, populated with crazy/friendly folks that will sincerely offer keys to a Jeep to a virtual stranger. As usual, I am in debt for the advice and offers of assistance.

Second, I want to give a short (fishless) report. This trip was primarily a family vacation with a little fishing time stolen here and there. And in spite of not catching, I can say with certainly that it was one of the best trips of my life.

If anyone else has spent their entire life under a rock like me, I highly recommend this trip.

The first three days were spent in the park. The park's more popular attractions were cool, but the backcountry was my favorite by a mile. We made it a point to make a hike or two each day, averaging around 11 miles by the time the sun set.

On day 4 we woke up early and hauled ass through the Tetons, arriving in Jackson just in time to witness a couple of awesome people tie the knot.

The next day was father's day, and it was certainly one for the books. All of my gifts came from a national park general store, and one stated the obvious.

The required padding seemed a little excessive. Four hours later, I believe we had used them all.

The next day we drove to Idaho and crossed a huge item off of my 7 year old's bucket list.

Back in Jackson, we did a little more walking.

And that is that. A couple flights later, we landed in the shit hole we call home greeted by 90+ degrees and humidity.

Again, a million thanks for the help.

:cool
