Sad News to Report

Post by Salty » Fri Apr 21, 2006 6:16 pm

My employers firewall has tightened and The Drake along with anything sports related is now filtered out. I went to check the board this afternoon and got the red screen of shame.

Last time I checked it was the United States of America, not the United States of Russia. Seriously, how are you going to get any work done now that you are going to spend your whole day wondering what is at that very moment being posted on drakemag.com? I think it may be time to pull a TO and renegotiate your contract.

Technology sucks (in an un-Drakish way). The filter at the Wisconsin Fly fishing site automatically blocks out "vulgar" words in posts on their bulletin board. It won't let you type saltwater becasue twat is in the middle of the word. (My secretary still has no idea why I'll all of a sudden scream saltwater when I'm pissed at someone. My office's internet filter looks for words like porn (damned fish porn post) lesbian, boobies, (and probably pie too) and weights swear words too, to block out sites. By Divine intervention, tt doesn't completely block the Drake -- I have to hit a butto
confirming my use of the website is for work purposes. Damned right its for fucking work -- if I can't dream about fishing, I sure as fuck arent' going to keep coming into the office.Tough bounce Salty. Get to know your IT people better.Adams

Now that's funnyI have some methods to try before I call IT in Bangalore; there was a wailing and nashing of teeth in the Clearwater area today though. For Roosters question I checked in my employee contract and since the machines are company property, they can monitor email, block websites, etc
