almost a year since moving into the 'ageing disgracefully' bachelor pad, feeding the birds is paying off

more than 20 species have visited, and now seven different pairs have had fledgelings

My oldest (6) ties a fly she likes to call "The Rainbow Pheasant", which is mostly feather bits she selects, trims up, and lashes to the hook.
After each trip, she asks me if I've fished her flies. My response is usually: conditions weren't right.
This last time were between events, so I gave it a go.
She was pleased. As was I.
