Bring jetty spikes,
Do studded wading boots work? I'd say I would just use a kayak but I remember that picture from a couple years ago of the dude in the kayak and he was surrounded by a few million boats and that doesn't make for a pleasant day paddling.

Rain jackets, jetty spikes, lifelines, carabiners, friends and tweed are all needed to stay alive out there...

Fud, bring your yak....you can seal launch off the end of the jetty into out-going rip. All the fish are just out of casting distance from the jetty...

Make sure the kayak is black, maybe attach some rubber flippers to it and whiskers on the front.

A buddy that lives there boogie boarded out to a barrier island a few nights ago to fish. It can be done.
