This is the weirdest fishery in the world. You just stand on the beach with a net and once in a while a fish just swims into said net. Thousands of people do it. Thousands of sockeye go to people's freezers. It's actually pretty neat. Try everything once I guess.

Big fish don't eat dry flies in Alaska, everybody knows that

Probably should have used a streamer.

Glass is dead, like the drake.

You almost make alaska seem cool, or some shit. Why not just cast for sockeye instead of using a net?

Well you can keep 25, also snagging sockeye in the face isn't my idea of fun. Also dipnetting is realllllllly easy. The unskilled masses can do it no problem.

Nice. Monk.
Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need-a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing.

Did some amazing biking

Caught a couple fish in the Yukon Territory
Image

Took a couple good boat naps
Image

Gave a fly fishing lesson
Image

Saw some sunsets
Image

Image

Saw a sunrise
Image

Had a whale jump out of the water one whale length from the boat. This is the only shot I got.
Image

A bit farther away it just did some chin slaps
Image

Then waved at us
Image

Caught a greenling
Image

And a cutthroat
Image

Hung out with a good god
Image

Image

Caught a halibut
Image

Hiked up a mountain in full camo
Image

Had good weather
Image

only bushwhacked a little.

camped here, mosquitoville USA:

Skinned a deer here
Image

We were fortunate enough to harvest 2 nice bucks. My first big game animal ever!

Then began the ordeal.
This part was the easiest, harvesting the amazing meat
Image

Then we took the scenic route down with 75-80 pound packs

Image

13 hours after walking up to the deer
Image

Image

I also caught a black cod aka sablefish on a fly rod, which was cool because they usually live at like 1200'

Till next time
