Montana River Closures

Post by ScottP » Sun Jul 09, 2017 5:35 pm

Hoot owls come to roost on the Sun and Smith Rivers as of July 9

http://fwp.mt.gov/news/restrictions/waterClosure.html

I expect a lot more will be joining the list before long; latest 10 day forecast here is mostly mid-high 90's and a few days over 100 (pretty similar throughout the state). Already a hell of a lot hotter than 2015, which was a terrible fire season in NW Montana. Thank goodness spring was long and wet; that might help, some.

Hadn't seen that one. Heard about the fire up around Zortman/Landusky; looks like that could go either way.

I had a friend in town yesterday. He's from Birney. He Left in a hustle when his kid called and said there's smoke everywhere around the house.

Great. Just when I thought we were going to escape the oppressive heat of SE TX next week by going up north. I guess we keep driving 'til the polar ice cap?

I don't know how you guys do it. Especially with a lack-o-shade. A mid-June day before the wind picked up on the Missouri this summer was almost enough to almost do me in.

This week, and last week on the Mo have been brutaly hot. Fish early and late. Drink beer, eat and siesta from 11am-8pm. Best fishing of the day is 8pm to wayyy past dark. More closure to come I'm sure
