Been a slow few months for me and the out of doors. Work has been crazy until a couple of weeks ago, but I managed to get in a bit of writing, drinking, tying, hunting and fishing. My writing isn't the best, but I got a couple of pieces published, so I'm happy with it. My mongrel god almost passed gun dog, but she needs a bit more work. Today I decided to hit the mountains in search of a nice brown. It was just the right amount of cloudy for it and not too cold. I hit one of my favorite runs and caught a decent little brown. I came back to town and had a nice beer and some grub and went home...Not a bad day all in all.
I brought the SOBF manual with me...
Some of my crappy writing...
Now it's time for a few whiskey sours
“I am a fisherman. The work is simple, as is my life. Still, I take pride in my work because on these waters, I may think, and reason not to."
"Do you remember, Odin, when in bygone days we mixed our blood together? You said you would never drink ale unless it were brought to both of us?" -Njal
Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need-a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing.
