There won’t be any mosquitos by August. Shouldn’t be, anyway.

Fishing gear. Somewhere to sleep (hammock, tent, tarp, whatever). Reggae Muzak (if Ben is coming) so the rest of us can complain about listening to that shit.
Damn, listen to Heero talking smack.

What happened to our little chocolate cake eating sitting in the closet crying Heero?
I hardened him the fuck up by almost drowning him. :stupid
The swimming that year was good though.

I'll be waiting for you to pick me up at the airport tomorrow Heero. Try to be on time this year.

Why don’t you grab a rental vehicle then come pick me up this time. I think that may work a little better for everyone.

I'm going to get one with a sidecar and then come and pick you up.

Make sure you're packed and ready to go!

The whole thing sounds fun, looks fun. But, shouldn't somebody in that pic be drinking a Dos Equis??
I, on the other hand, will be back at the reno game. At least until the Fall. Jealous. Enjoy. I look forward to the TR. Pretty sure there will be no Dos Equis guy pics at the end.

Change of plans.

We will meet you at the boat ramp, just like last time.

Last year I didn't make the luau. Big mistake on my part, and something I still regret. This year I decided to make up for it by arriving two days early and staying two days late, and so the Tuesday before the luau my wife dropped me off at the airport two hours prior to my 5:45 AM flight.

Once inside, I was greeted by this.

Apparently Delta thinks asking passengers to show up one hour and fifteen minutes before their employees do makes for happy customers.

At least I wasn’t alone.

Arrived in Salt Lake City a little after 8:30 AM and had some breakfast.

A toddler sat behind me on the flight to Cody, and once we were airborne he started screaming so loudly that several passengers took to stuffing torn bits of Delta cocktail napkins into their ears.

Maybe next year I’ll drive.

Lando and Louie picked me up at the airport and took me to Brewgards, and a few minutes later the joys of modern air travel were no longer a concern.

After lunch Lando generously offered to take me fishing, but I declined. My priorities being what they are, I instead asked him to take me to the grocery and liquor stores, and after securing some provisions we went back to his place.

As soon as I unpacked it was frisbee time.

Lando has one of the coolest and smartest dogs I’ve ever come across, and I never tire of playing frisbee with him.

Before the luau, I promised Lando that I’d make the following dishes: egg rolls, fried chicken tacos, pad thai, thai chicken pizza, and meatloaf.

Neither of us had any idea how many people were going to show up this year, so I bought a deep fryer and had it shipped out.

Some assembly was required.

I decided to christen the fryer with a batch of egg rolls, even though I couldn’t find egg roll wrappers at the local store. I did find some rice paper wrappers and thought, “Those should work.” Made the filling and tried to wrap one up.

Disaster.

Lando then gave it a try and had better luck.

At this point there was nothing left to do but curse Cornholio for not being there, have another drink, and make some shitty pad thai.

More to come at a later date.
