Recently picked up a griddle for the Big Ass Grill.
Been playing around with it, and tonight I used it to cook up some cheese steak sandwiches. They weren’t traditional Philly cheese steak sandwiches, but they came out OK.
Sliced up some sweet onion and tossed it on the hot grill.
Hit it with some salt and pepper and then cooked it low and slow for thirty to forty minutes.
Moved the onions off to the warm side of the steel and threw on some mushrooms.
Let them get nice and brown.
Put the shrooms on top of the onions and then threw on the steak.
I used sirloin. Sliced it thin when it was still partially frozen, and then hit it with some baking soda, which acts as a tenderizer.
That’s a trick the Chinese restaurants use to soften up the cat meat.
Buttered up the rolls and threw them on the hot steel.
Once the meat was browned, I mixed it with the onions and mushrooms, divided it up, and topped it with cheese.
Dropped some cut up taters into the deep fryer.
Put it all on a plate...
… and mowed it all down with some cheap booze.
Am I going to regret it come morning?
Will I do it all again once a few good benders wipe out those memories?
