Re: Openly Reggae.
It's been a while. I feel like I owe you guys something.
Pour a drink, this is going to be a long one.
Things you will find in this post:
-gratuitous grom shots
-several pics of individual fishes
-photos that are not fishing related
-all songs by the same band
If those things are not agreeable to you, you might want to move along.
We'll start way back a few months ago.
Did a float with 2 of the 3 Scotts.
Times of fun, as always.
Hogleg got Batboy his certification.
Slave and I did some pre-fishing for some PHW guiding.
We did two days with the vets. It was far more rewarding than I thought it would be.
Already signed up for next year.
The highlight was getting Don into a nice big brown.
Don uses a walker and is on O2.
During lunch we spied some fish working the riffle.
We hatched a plan, laid it out for everyone, and somehow pulled it off perfectly.
Took my in-laws and their friends for a float.
The dude on the right is from Louisiana and has MS pretty bad.
He inquired about marijuana to ease his discomfort.
I obliged, and was finally able to openly smoke weed in front of my FIL.
Fished a new spot that I've been eyeing for years, just had to figure out how to get in there.
It was good enough, so I worked out a way to put a boat on it.
Long-lost drakerer V-Wake breezed through with a hot chick.
We went for a float with my chick and grom.
It was really good to see him again.
I bought a new tarp. In tarp costs, I'm now a third of the way to a proper boat cover.
A friend wanted to acclimate his spazzy 3 yr old lab to boats.
We took my raft, I got the bow all day.
The duder helped me burn some scrap,
and not catch brook trout,
and tie some bugs. Aside from 3 redfish flies, all I tied this year was purple worms and peacock wooly buggers.
For me this was the year of the peacock bugger. 90% of my fish.
I took a pic of a brutally honest bumper sticker.
This caused some butthurt on the instafames.
After 15 years in this valley, my attitude toward tourists has done a complete 180.
It took me a long time to realize how much I need them.
I wish I could put up a billboard saying "Thanks for your money, please come back soon."
Also, I don't have to fish and ski on weekends.
Made some new e-friends from California and took them fishing.
Lando, we're taking this guy poop fishing next spring.
He takes pitchers of assholes with small fish.
Chased some migratory fish during their sexy time.
I found a fuckload of fish, more than I ever have at this spot, but it was damn near impossible to find some that were not actively spawning.
I did a lot more watching than fishing that day. It was fascinating. Wished I had a proper camera.
There is a certain husband and wife that posts on the instafish that I know raped the fucking hell out of those fish.
Still, I was able to squeak out a few of the loafers, on dries even.
I finally saw a squawfish!
Took my ski buddies fishing. They are noobs at the fishings.
WB25, the dude on the left is Chris. He rowed a bunch that day.
Everyone caught fish.
I've started to bring a new guy into the fold. A couple of you know him.
We fished a couple times last spring, then we got after it pretty good this fall for a few weeks.
He fishes great, and rows better than me.
Motherfucker just needs to learn to show up on time.
Overall, a good bloke.
Winston bought us a boat.
We didn't "slay them", but we caught some fish.
Cheeky paid for the stern.
We drove 4 hrs to fish for 1 hr then sleep in the snow.
No complaints from anyone.
That helped make up for being 2 hrs late.
One small fish was caught.
He slept on a paco pad next to the truck here.
I slept in the back of his truck.
I found a book.
It took fucking forever, but winter finally arrived.
I'm still thinking about trout, but don't have much interest in fishing for them right now.
We have officially switched gears.
And that brings us up to date.
I took this photo this evening.
Thanks for playing. I love you all, yes even you.[/report]
