Guidebook - Fly Fishing the Gunnison Country

Post by Gunnison_Country » Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:52 pm

This post was deleted because Jed, our moderator, would rather see internet "tough guys" (likely in mom's basement) drop F-bombs and other nonsensical banter unrelated to fly fishing:

1. This is your first post (True, but you have to admit it was a sweet first post and was actually fly fishing related, unlike 99% of the banter on this alleged "fly fishing" forum.)
2. You use it to advertise some POS book(Although many guidebooks are POS, Fly Fishing the Gunnison Country is pure awesomeness! If you ever come across a copy you'll agree...trust me.)
3. You don't even introduce yourself properly(Actually, I did, you just didn't read the author's blurb on the book jacket I posted before you deleted it.)

If you want to advertise on this site, buy some space from the drake, this isn't Craigslist or Facebook.(My bad, I was under the impression that this was classified ads...you know, for selling stuff.)

Put up or shut up. (Huh?)

Love, your moderator. (I love you too!)

The lack of blurbs on your jacket is troubling.

Would it kill you to get some quotes from, say, A.Ritt, C.Craven or even Andy Gills? A few assurances as to the awesomeness of this book...

edits = treys ghey, jean. more so than Richard Alpert's name change---------------------------------------Big fat edit 01/01/18

you'd be the pilgram I've been hearing for 20days and smelling for three. have you ever been to tpeaka?

Image

fill your hand!

or maybe just shut up and fill your mouth with cork

Image

we'll never cross paths. in your region or here, there'll be a turning away. this is odd because you've likely forgotten more about the flytiesfishing than I'll ever learn, but your attitude sucks and what you express is boring

will you ever notice these edits? that doesn't matter. anything is an improvement on your silly and fruitless skidmark

let's take a little trip

prior to departing, we took a stab a fishing our nearest water. most her fish come from the bow of the canoe. this fish was all her. we were heading back to the access on still water. she was ahead and afoot as I brought along the canoe. she picked a root wad and guessed right. she pulled this fish out of a foot of water. she was jazzed and we both considered it to be a good sign

Image

Image

we sent stickies, baked goods, and a bit of our personal gear out first to one of the best men we know

Image

it was great to be in a beautiful part of your state without you anywhere in sight

Image

we took a room south near the depot. Pullman cars have always held a certain allure. the entire car moves and creaks like a living thing

Image

Image

pro-tip - make a half day out of it. pay to have the rental moved or take a shuttle. that takes the venture from 0830-1830 down to 0830-1200. it was worth the fee

Image

we'd shift from the back platform to the space just out the front door. rubber-necking and constantly minding to footwork

Image

Image

Image

we saw a beat up river rolling thru some amazing vistas

Image

Image

we went north and continued our red hawt tourist adventue

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

we visited our pal and took a few dayhikes around his area

Image

Image

he took us to the range to test a truck gun

Image

it was all so terribly macho once one adjusts to the sudden and loud noises

Image

he was kind enough to pull over when I asked. this sign was cryptic and easy to misread

Image

Bess made lemon bars

Image

she went on her first backpacking trip

Image

Image

Image

we both squeezed in here for one of the crappiest nights of sleep in our lives

Image

Image

there were fish present but none were caught

Image

here's to the remote and rewarding places

Image

back down in the valley, we had better luck. she commited to the frypole. it was wonky and a series of open loops, but she caught four trout and a sucker

cheers, gents

First post deleted, due to total inappropriateness and his sucking up my valuable time forcing me to throw up before I completed reading his post.
