I put my point and shoot on a lanyard, comes down to about my waist. I stuff it under my waders and while I'm fighting the fish, I pull it out and turn it on and let it hang. Then when I get the fish in hand, I stuff the rod in my armpit and grab the camera with my loose hand, when I'm done and need to release the fish, I can just drop the camera and not worry about it til I can release the fish.
