I have an old ass Olympus 770 and I haven't been able to break it, and for anyone who knows me that is quite an accomplishment. I recently got a super nice (for me) Fuji for dry time shots, but I plan on using this old ass Oly until it dies. I have no compliants and it has been underwater, left in the water twice for an hour once and 30 minutes the other time (I left them and forgot) dropped on pavement, and brought all over the western US in all sorts of weather and conditions.

I think it takes decent pictures, especially if you use the scene settings. Hard to beat as far as I am concerned.

For you Canon D fans;

Canon unveils much slimmer PowerShot D20 rugged camera

Canon's turn at launches for the CP+ camera show were headlined by a major rethink of its rugged camera. The PowerShot D20 is dramatically smaller and thinner than the D10 while keeping the durability. It can take water up to 33 feet deep, survive temperatures as cold as 14F or as warm as 104F, and survive drops of up to five feet. Its button layout is designed to be used with gloves on and has presets for underwater (including macros) and snow.

The leap forward to modern camera technology gives it a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor friendlier to low light as well as a three-inch preview LCD. A DIGIC 4 chip is fast enough to drive 1080p video capture and GPS for geotagging. In keeping with the rugged treatment, its 5X (28-140mm equivalent) lens keeps the zoom strictly internal.

Although being announced now, the D20 won't be ready until May, when it's expected to cost $350.
