Had been trying for ever to get an old (ex)friend to come on a trip. Coupla years ago he agrees, gets out in the boat, lets a full 9wt sinking line dangle out the back, pulls it all back and finds this 43lb laker attached! The low life sack of crap had never touched a fly rod before or since.
This blue on the cheeks of brown trout has always interested me. Have seen it on photos of browns caught virtually everywhere, this guy lives down in the southern hemisphere.
Me and this guy have a bit of history between us. Have caught him from the same spot over a couple of years. Figure its the same one due to the distinctive snout. Last time our paths crossed he weighed just shy of 7lbs. Sadly haven't seen him for a couple of years now. Promoted to avatar status as a token of my gratitude.
