salmon fly tying material 'on the ponce' thread

kind of self-explanatory, right? We seem to have some impressive thread-wrappers that lurk around this board. let's try to keep your "first booger" posts at a minimum.

Life is a whole lot more simple when you plow around the stump.

Odd that I had not encountered the word "ponce" much until this point. A british book I started last evening had 3 uses of the word in the first 80 pages so it was a good $2.50 spent.

Root's feather is about as good as we can get anymore and it's shite.

Now is anyone going to start breeding turkeys? Serious this would be a good investment. Sell the meat to pet food manufacturers or something. Win win win.

The scarcity of quality feathers is because classic salmon flies (not to mention spey-piphanies and spey-wakenings and whatever else) are the new cool so the supply is strained by a bunch of hacks buying up all the materials.

I remember that fucking shit stabber saying something like this a few years back, except the way he worded it 'less talented tyers were buying up all the cotinga' or some shit.
'twas a lovely little hole he dug for himself.

This hurts my feelings.

New idea. Get some celeb twat to put married turkey crap stuff in their hair and get it on tv.

Things will happen organically.

Root gave me a great set of turkey bird that I'm afraid to use. Can't get more of that quality at any sensibly sane price. As always in these situations I ask why and how to fix stuff, but I'll probably just keep fishing.

putting randall's heron to work on the off chance he'll stop not-so-secretly rueing the day we met.

"I may have given it to someone in the spey swap..."
'what??? you fucking gave it away?'
"I don't know... I might have."
'you better not've... I sent you fucking loads...'
"I may have given some to rampant. I don't remember... I'm going to bed."
'dude, it's like 8:30...'
