New Gear

All threads that bitch about new, existing, or old members will be posted/relocated here. Keep this shit off the General forum, because no one wants (or cares) to hear your opinions. Now go back to the other forums and post something worthy of reading.

That is a tall van. Good to see one of you has that mastered.

Naw, out in eastern Oregon doing some snowboarding. Transmission dropped all the fluid when we hit the parking lot which is at 7100 ft. Wife, 2 year old, 3 dogs, no cell coverage. Normal flatbeds won't take my camper(or kid seats) so had to wait for this guy to come on Monday. Wife and kiddo grabbed a ride to town sunday then rented a car and arranged a tow. Some real shinning type shit when everybody left Sunday and that resort is closed until thursday.

Apparently early 2000 Ford trucks have a shitty seal in the tranny. Guy said he has replaced hundreds of them anywhere from 40K to 400K miles. Replaced the stock seal with a $35 upgrade but still cost $1K to get it done. Better than $3,500 if I had tried to limp back to town on it.

Long fucking 4 days...

Damn those rig break downs remind me of my youth. I'm amazed at how little the newer rigs break down but damn that's a hell of a two for right there. Sorry to see.

That is one really great looking little boat. Is that commercially made originally? If so by who?

Thanks Nick. Not commercially made that I know. A buddy made it 8 or 10 years ago off plans from the old Charley Barnes White River paddle jon design. I had subleased it from him for a couple years for guide trips and bought if from him last year. Hope it's in the family until I can't paddle it no more. There is a place in Missouri (Troutt and Sons) that sells the aluminum version made by Blazer.
