On the style, Romney came out head and shoulders above Obama - no question. It remains to be seen whether or not some of the flip flops and misrepresentations Mitt came out with last night will cost him in the end - I think anyone that's still undecided at this point probably isn't going to pay much attention to the followup coverage, so Mitt basically got to lie for free last night - not a bad strategy I guess.

How come the 3rd largest parties candidate wasn't invited?

It was kinda funny watching BHO try to go toe to toe without the help of someone typing shit onto his teleprompter.

And those polls from CBS and CNN sure made me scratch my bald head.

I saw CNN was 67%-Romney 25%-Obama... haven't yet seen the CBS poll. I'll check it out.

I enjoyed watching Chris Matthew's MSNBC meltdown...

Yeah, surprised Matthew didn't keel over with a painful tingle in his left arm.

Refuting Obama’s remark that corporations are still given tax breaks for moving their companies overseas, - “I’ve been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you’re talking about. Maybe I need to get a new accountant, but the idea you get a break for shipping jobs overseas, is simply not the case.” Companies that close their US factories and move the operation out of the US can deduct their moving expenses, and if the owner of Bain really is unaware of this, he's too stupid to be prez.

The New York Times has called bullshit on Romney’s claims of creating 12 million jobs by revisiting reports in which forecasters explain the economy will create those jobs on its own no matter who wins.

Willard more than once referred to how Obama wants to make $716 billion in cuts to Medicare. Would you say it's a lie of omission not to add that your own running mate advocates the same thing?

I'll admit, Obama didn't do well last night.

Jon, he answered the sentence; "Tax deductions for companies that move out of the country."
It is true that ALL companies have a tax deduction for moving expenses. Not just for companies that move out of the country.

I guess that is what happens with no teleprompter?

Yes, and in 2010 Obama pushed for Sen.Whitehouse's bill to end the moving expense deduction for factories and jobs sent out of the country. 40 out of 41 Republicans in the Senate voted against it - one didn't vote. If a company decides to scrap equipment they're shipping out of the US it's also legal to write down the depreciated value and take that off against their taxes as well. (wish he'd made those points last night)

Obama stunk. Romney did the ultimate debate pivot and Obama was not prepared for it. Looked like a deer in the headlights for the first part, and then peeved and "get me off this damn stage" the second. Of course, by that time I was surfing between the Yankees/Boston game and Southpark.

Was he unprepared, did he really not think Romney would want to look normal instead of Bachman lite?

My guess is that in the long term, the Obama crowd will stay home, the two or three people that make up the "undecided" group will continue to worry more about Snookie's baby than any election, and the rabid right will wonder just how badly Romney is going to sell them out by negotiating with those damn democrats. Not having horns may hurt Romney more than help.
