"American Sniper" Murder

Post by befuddled » Wed Feb 25, 2015 7:28 pm

I haven't really been hanging out down here much anymore, but this thing has been bothering me.

First, of course I believe that Chris Kyle was a hero, and I think it sucks that a guy who tried that hard to help other vets find a little solace in the civilian world get this kind of repayment. But...

1) Littlefield died as well. Not as famous, but just as gone from his family and friends.

C) Also, I've seen zero, and I mean zero, mention of whether or not this country failing a disturbed veteran was a contributing factor in this. I mean, wasn't he the type of person we should have been really helping in major ways?

Not trying to defend a murderer and certainly not trying to minimize the loss of Kyle and Littlefield, but I have serious questions about this. In some states we have Veterans courts where vets get tried in courts other than the normal criminal courts. Probably not for murder, but there is an accommodation for people who serve and have a hard time re-entering society. I don't know if this guy should have gotten different treatment, but I do have a very large suspicion that we are still failing vets in a major way.

For you guys who served, what's your opinion? Think it likely that this guy was always a bullet waiting to land and serving in the military just prevented it for a while? Or did we screw him up and then throw him away?

Sorry if this has already been covered

edit to add: "kind of repayment" to second paragraph

never.
he was an upstart who never seemed to follow the rules of a modern day society.

I've seen rambo.
I know what goes on.

seriously? I believe you're (as a country) sat at the table with enough wonga for a starter and a main with nothing left for afters or even a tip.
therefore we (as in you) should be happy with what has already been provided. for there is very little else.

The Rambo shit is so true it is not even funny.
Who would have ever guessed Sylvester Fucking Stallone a genius.
You are going to be broke, hungry and confused, sea bag on your shoulder.

Those are the kind of thoughts you have waiting in line in Vegas to sell your blood plasma,
You get $20 they make $1000.

Back then gas was like $4.75 a gallon and the base was 30 miles away.

It is a long fucking road when you are on your own.

Thank you so much to dudes that hire Vets... Like BM.
