Intelligent people have a reputation for making dumb mistakes, especially in situations that require common sense. The simplicity of these situations and the abundant intelligence of those who tend to muck them up can be downright comical.

Add to that the problem of peer review being an echo chamber like any other and you e distilled the reasons why folks are sick of being lectured to by holier than thous. Especially when they're theories are being tested on us by force. We lay folk don't have to be right. All we have to do is rightfully chip away at the know it alls when observed reality proves them wrong.

That hasn't been my experience, but it might be different in your field.

Gotta say, I like the stripper meme.

Let's recap:
- the much-maligned ban is not Trump's first chess move toward fascist rule but rather an extension of an Obama administration policy
- it is only a temporary measure, not a long-term solution, yet it has cost untold millions in tissues and soiled booty covers
- a Canadian mocking us for electing an entitled, inarticulate, egotistical, vapid candidate is blissful irony
- Media outlets around the globe document hundreds of Islamic terror attacks each year, but they're making it all up to sell subscriptions
- Wingnut alleges that Baptist church bake sales are far more dangerous than all-out jihad
- the average dog knows that Job One is to protect his own yard...which means my dog is smarter than the average "progressive"
- And, evidently, I still don't "get" it
