The song has nothing to do with me-I'm not looking for a couch. But, it is catchy or something.
I've been doing a lot of wandering lately. Most lately, I headed out in the rarest of rare-rain. If you don't appreciate water from the heavens, consider yourself lucky.

On the way through New Mexico, I made a stop for some green chile. I haven't been everywhere, but NM seems to have chile down better than say, Wyoming.

Later, there would be a burger.

And so, I headed on to meet up with a lurker buddy at a place most of the board has fished for fish that have in general, been molested. We found a few that didn't show the scars of life on a bent rod.

We figured out the fly and hooked a lot of fish. My buddy, Bob, may have had his best day ever w/ perfect skies and willing fish. (The small fish of February were not to be found.)

Bob and I parted ways and I put up the 6x for some freestone stuff on the way home. Snow situation was not great, but an improvement over last year-there were still a few drifts making roads impassible. I considered hiking for cutts, but decided to save that for a month. Instead, I explored pretty country and dropped into a canyon to stealth fish dries for smaller browns. Beat up the 4Runner pretty good getting in, but found access to three streams that are RGC only water (I think).

Was it a destination fishery? Probably not...unless you live on top of a giant sand dune which frequently offers up 60 mph winds and Old Testament skies. There were fish.
Suck on this hog, Walter!

So, that trip is over; the next in two weeks. Anybody in the area is welcome to join in. I'll have beer (not pictured-I realize) and will be hiking for cutties.
