this summer my goal is to fish, and enjoy life more than I have in the past. this installment is a tad different than the last.

I have a friend that is leaving on Friday for the entire summer. he wanted to go out for a quick float after my wife and I got off work on Saturday. my typical answer was "hell yeah, we are down" so it was set.

we got into some fish right away

half way through the trip we had the urge to skip stones and drink beer

we connected a few more times before the sun went down

and that was a night.

in the middle of a sunday bender an idea was hatched to float a different section Monday morning before the family get togethers took places.

Monday started out just the way it should

then we came up to a spot that I had been to before without much luck. today was not like the previous visits to this spot

even got home in time for the killer dinner and staged a shot for busch beer

I really like the contents of this river. It's like a kind of Unicorn Valley of the Rust Belt. I should be heading back to y'alls part of the world in the near future and would like to go to this magical place.

Saturday I made plans to take my wife's youngest brother fishing on Monday morning. so Saturday I proceeded to tie up an arsenal.

Monday wouldn't be a real fishing trip if I didn't go out sunday and do a little scouting (you know, just to make sure).

with the rain and increased flows I was pretty much bank bound while I was by myself. turns out wading wasn't necessary. check 1 for tomorrow

shortly after arriving I found out that this little guy wanted to play. check 2 for tomorrow. I had to be home by 10 so my pre=trip was cut short, but not after enjoying these.

Monday rolled around and I picked up my brother-in-law and off we went. we sent a bit of time fixing stuff like this

but it didn't take long for his form to come around

with him there I waded out

after the release we fished for about an hour with nothing then I gave him the half hour till we go call. I hooked a pig and handed him the rod. this fish was not ment to be for us today, but my little buddy got bent, and wants to go back...
