Six some years ago these are the flies that made it through the postal gambit. They have been in storage in several states since. They are now located in the Grand Junction area.
I will need current addresses to finish this swap. We can a)try and finish the original swap, i.e. everyone who was in at the beginning sends their flies in. b) Swap what I have. c) I can return the files. d) Open to any suggestions.
I am glad this thread has turned into such a comedy, because in truth I should be staked out and feed to vultures and I apologize. The Shitty (Lousy) Fly Swap had (has) every issue a flyswap could possibly have; a classic example of how not to run a swap. The tittle confused people because it was too similar to another swap. My multiple addresses were confusing, one was a temporary college apartment(at one point I was locked out of my box waiting for the PS to change the lock for a few weeks, hence the second address) the other was an address too far away to check regularly. At least one package was returned due to insufficient postage. Salmotrutta has yet to mail his off. I haven't finished tying the flies I was supposed to. Then there was finals, graduation, and a job search where I was off the grid for a while. I am determined for this not to become a swap that Mr. Don got screwed. So lets make 2014 the year the Shittyest Fly Swap was completed.
The best part about this thread for me is that I wanted to participate in a swap, but I sucked at tying (still do) and that's why I wanted to do the Shitty Fly Swap. At the time (nearly seven years) I would get together and tie with my friend Staton, who at the time sucked also. Now, he sells his flies and is the real deal fishermen. So this thread takes me back to smoky nights and cheap beer in a nasty college apartment, talking about fish, rivers and tying flies. Anyways lets finish this fucking thing.
