I do a really nice married wing "sage 8wt" pattern in sartroose. The trick is a buying white pipe cleaner and coloring it with a sharpie until you get the perfect depth of color. Pre-colored pipe cleaner is for clowns and homosensuals

Re: Bing Lempke or Charles Brooks flies
And I actually have some of Charlie's flies given to me during a long night of Scotch consumption at his house outside of West Y in the early 80's. Stoneflies tied in the round. Perhaps we can join forces and turn a profit. Other than a great dinner first that is about all I remember except not feeling very well on the RR Ranch the next day. Charlie was a singular individual.

Re: Bing Lempke or Charles Brooks flies
Greetings,
I came across videotape of Cyril ‘Bing’ Lempke (1917 – 1991) tying flies in the late 80's. I am in the process of digitizing and uploading to Youtube.com, videos of Bing tying the Green Drake and Bing's Hopper. Although the quality is a bit rough, shot on VHS, most folks should be able to get a few tips and tricks from his demonstrations, which include using his extended body fly invention he is know far and wide for, when tying the extended body flies.
The first one is on the extended body Green Drake. One several I will upload in the next weeks.

Coming later, Bing's Hopper and How to use Bing's Fly Body Extender.
Cheers.

You ain't gonna catch anything on that fly. There seems to be an issue with the hook.
