My first go using cedar to match the ‘shoe proved to be not as sturdy as I’d like. So hardwoods it is for now. Oak for the hoop, mahagony and a touch of walnut for the yoke.



Got her a touch wet to see if the colors will pop upon a good varnishing. This’ll do. Planning on wood burning a small mayfly on the fat of the yoke.
