Caught those from a lake growing up in VT and I believe they were the fish that inspired a way of life for me along with small stream brookies. Someday I hope to give smallies a try in a rocky stream. Bet they are a kickass fish in those environs.

Root - I live for these guys. Nothing fights like them, pound for pound. They are scrappy, vicious, and fun. My kind of fish, and easily accessed near my whereabouts. We had a dam torn down in one of the local tribs and I think it really lit up the river for smallies. Definitely more lake fish coming in and staying in - a nice change from a few years ago for sure. I think a WaterMaster is in my future as there are a good amount of braids I need to explore...

Having fished that all the time back when there was dam there I'd love to see that fishery now. More lake fish!?! Damn.
