This fish was particularly memorable. I’d fished all morning but only the dinks wanted to play.
Heading back for lunch I spotted this, he ignored everything I threw earlier and so I took a second shot.
It worked, didn’t think I’d ever land it. By the time he hit the net my knees were shaking!
Told everyone they’d have to wait on lunch, I needed a beer and a smoke just to calm down.

Spent an afternoon on Tromen Lake close to the ranch. The lake covers about 62 square miles. Very remote and not easily accessible.

Dragon flies were hatching, fish were coming completely out of the water to pick them off the tule grass.

Having large fish explode on the fly was a hoot!
The next day we hit the Aluminé River

Reminded a lot of the Yellowstone, but without all the trophy houses, and with more fish!

The international airport in Buenos Aires was packed. Bob’s gal Sandy told us we were handicapped and returned with special transportation. Bob said do whatever Sandy tells you...we went to the head of the line!

A postscript-

I really can’t say enough about the Olsen family’s hospitality. They and the guides and help were were exceptional!
Bob and Lisa did a fantastic job organizing the trip, answering all my questions, even the dumb ones.
Bob was the perfect host. My wife had the time of her life, she’s ready to go back!

And finally...
A young Drakian in the making
