I'm not sure why, but "It's called a peduncle you dumb fuck," has always struck me as one of the funniest things ever written here. Maybe it's because peduncle is just a funny word. Maybe it's because breaking RFA's balls for misspelling Canadiens and not using the word peduncle in the middle of an otherwise solid TR is what made this place what it is/was/whatever.

Anyhow, I just had a picture of a guy tailing a salmon come across my IG feed and said out loud, "Its called a peduncle you dumb fuck," and came back here for a re-read.
I went back 2 years later and actually got one, on a dry no less.

This is now a yearly trip, or at least it was, until COVID came into the picture.

Yes, made a good friend at work that first time I went up. I have gone back purely for fishing (didn't want to say "pleasure", because that would sound weird) .

Damn fine... everything.

Nice. This was always a good trip. Ill probably never do it again.

Have either of you - Glista or RFA - fished any of the more wilderness-y rivers on the North Shore? Always wanted to, but 20-something hours is a really long drive alone. Tried to get a few here to meet me in Quebec or Montreal, but I am too unlikeable for that. Ive no problem spending a week on my own, but I could not bring myself to do 2, 25-30 hour car rides alone, there and back.

Everything on the peninsula is so civilized.
Wait, edit: North Shore, as in Baie-Comeau, etc.? The only time I have been over there is to pick up passengers on the flight home from Mont-Joli.

You really can't miss on any of the rivers there. The really famous ones are incredible (Cascapedia, Bonaventure), but it's not like the York and St. Anne are drainage ditches. The Cascapedia is mainly for the wealthy anyway, every zone is high hundreds to thousands of dollars per day (before tip). That is an insane amount to spend on any 1 day of fishing.
