Just cracked an Oly and sparked a Drum in his honor. May he rest in peace and may your other friend return safely.

Condolences to you and your friend's family. A death resonates with family and close friends long after the pain passes for others. My dad was a high achieving individual, and AF pilot who's buried at Arlington. I'm almost 20 years older than he was when he died and it still hurts when I think of all the lost potential.

I'm tipping a double...

I'm sorry for the loss of a good man; your friend, a father, a husband, and much more.

I'm not a praying man... but I'll think about him tonight (and your son, Deerhawk, and your father, needmoreDEET) and send my gratitude in their direction.

Now, down to the house for a double...

Bless them all.

The families that wait at home must be so strong.

There is no training for that, nor for the emptiness that comes with loving somone who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Bless you who are fathers, family and friends of our protectors.

Those who are in the mix, may God hold you in his hands.

Here is health to you......

There is no sacrifice so great as someone laying down his/her life for country, kin, and freedom. We can only repay them with the memory of what they and their families gave. No matter how you feel about war--their lives were given for what they believed. We must honor them.
