Bob,
The peek behind your creative curtain continues to be fascinating for someone like me who can barely paint a fence.
Thanks for your generosity.

One of the best threads in here for a long while Bob.
Pretty awsome to be able to follow your work all
the way. RFA"s piece aint half bad but he hasnt
done the step by step thing so he gets a F grade.

Damn, now that's talent. You should do a series of trout like this. I'd love to see a Brown.

Bob, if you don't mind my asking, what's a painting like this sell for? With all the hours involved I'm sure whatever you ask will be worth it.

Bob's the muh-fuckin' man bump

I feel like a real shit-heel after getting that bump from Slave.

I didn't get to work on Spot today... I had to work.

I just got a list of all the illustrations I need to do for Conway Bowman's first book; a guide to salt water fishing, and spent the day going through them and making sense of it... turning words into images that are described with words, only to be reviewed with still more fucking words before I can finally draw and paint them.

I hope to gain some ground tomorrow.

Stay tuned... see Spot run.

I've said it before, Bob, but I'm always amazed at a painter's patience to take a concept through a jillion steps and come out with a product of their vision.

All I do is punch a button. Yeah, I gotta know about the camera, the light, and composition, but it's still only a moment in time. This long tedious process you're showing us really brings it all home to roost.

Really cool thread, my man.

Can you loan me some of those tasty fumes for my next photo shoot?

No sweat Bob.
Great piece. Painting and the thread.
We can wait besides if you need some help i got some of these.

Anyway I believe this is my first comment on the thread but wanted to say again that it is the water and what happens around the subject in your paintings that I really enjoy and seeing the progression of this one I understand why.

Thanks, Pimp... I'm in awe of a good photographer's understanding of all things technical. Give me a stick with some hair on the end of it, any day!

Castingoutloud... Thanks for the kind words. 'much appreciated.

I still didn't get a full day with Spot, putting out a fire with an editor... yech!

But, I'm happy to say that Spot finally got some face time!
