Pour One for a Fly Fisherman

Post by Muddled Duck » Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:14 am

First off, apologies for not being on the board for several months, and I beg forgiveness based on life just getting in the way of fun. When I logged on this morning I noticed my pm box was full, and I'll reply as soon as possible.

Normally, I wouldn't post this sort of thing on a message board, but something make me feel it's especially appropriate on The Drake. My father passed away last Wednesday after a very brief battle with cancer. The Saturday before his death, a nurse was about to begin a procedure and was asking him questions. The third question was, "what do you do?" Dad responded, "I'm a fly fisherman." Pretty well summed it up.
"Don Jacobo Crespin y McGillicuddy awoke at noon, feeling refreshed and languorous at the same time, one of the neatest tricks a man can perform."

“Which way General?” the aide asked. “Either,” Forrest growled. “If one road led to Hell and the other to Mexico, I would be indifferent which to take.”

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
That was one of the finest examples of spiritual guidance I've ever had the good fortune to witness.

Sounds like he was well grounded. Sorry to hear of your loss.

In the tough days ahead, I hope that the celebration of his life brings you comfort.
