Hey Fellows
I'm looking for input from you photog types...I'm going to purchase a new camera and want a great pocket camera.
I've been considering the Nikon Coolpix P340. Any feedback on that devise?
I've determined I need a good wide angle capability as well as something that also has good Marco ability and low light mojo. I also really want Wifi;). I'm lazy...
Any help would me mucho appreciated!
I'm open to any other suggestions under $500 btw

fwiw, bh photo has a good sale right now on the Canon s110
it's a pretty good 24mm equiv wide angle PS for $179, no doubt. it doesn't have the 9-10
continuous fps, has a negligibly slower lens (2.0 vs 1.8), slightly slower processor and the new s120 has a newer sensor but still a very solid camera for the $$$$.

anyway, the newer canon s120 is the direct competition to the nikon p340 so worth a look, as well.

I've had the Nikon AW1 since last spring. A pocket camera it really isn't. It's quite heavy and nearly the same size as the cropped body canon DSLR I have.
That said if you by the fixed lens for it, it significantly reduces bulk and it makes it far more portable.

Thanks for the hints. Now I am all hung up on that Nikon fancy pants rig!
Might have to sell some feathers...
Why am I so attached to those damn feathers?!

That's my tear with it- but RAW capability and the lens is pretty tempting. My Canon D? whatever (first gen waterproof) has been great, but is finally getting a little sketchy. For about double the money I'd have about 4 times the camera, and half the portability. Decisions decisions.

Got the Nikon AW1
Love it! Thanks for the info fellows:)
It's really perfect for my needs. I can keep that camera out in the boat - handy at all times without worrying about rain and minor rough handling. It's a sturdy little package. I love the Nikor glass...and I can use my D type lenses with an adaptor.
I'm looking forwArd to trying out the AW stuff - my 2015 goal is to get an underwater boat side eat by a musky on camera;). Tough act to capture...but a selfie stick and a big memory card might just be the ticket...
