shuck - hackle tip grizzly
shellback - deer hair
abdomen - grey dubbing
hackle - grizzly


Mash down barb, start thread at 80% mark

prep a grizzly hackle tip (shank length); tie in

clean a sparse clump of deer hair; trim tips, tie in and wrap back to point above barb

dub thread, dub abdomen up to 80% mark

pull deer hair up and over abdomen, twist slightly (helps keep everything tight, neat and orderly); tie down, trim butts
